These photographs are inspired by the temporary nature of the beauty of flowers. I had the opportunity to observe and witness this nature for more than a year whilst working in a local coffee/flower shop.
In summer 2014 by coincidence I discovered Hither Green. I didn’t know anything about the area or the people living there, having just finished working in a Shoreditch art gallery. I decided to take a job in the little coffee shop next to the station; it turns out that this place is the living heart of the local community. I met some amazing characters and for the first time in London, I experienced something permanent. Something about what community might mean.
I wanted to contribute to this living local community and so naturally turned to what I do best - photographs. I took inspiration from the beautiful flowers. Sold for many occasions : to say I love you, to say we're sorry, to say goodbye, to say thank you. Flowers which are temporary but move into permanence through moving emotions. People never forget how someone made them feel.
